How to spot fake chalk
We started out store with quality in mind from the very beginning because we wanted to raise the bar for the standards of edible clay and chalk. This has unfortunately lead to stores claiming to be us or other brands falsely claiming the same thing.
We only sell our products on our website and Amazon.com
Here you will be updated of any fake chalk and clay products and how to spot them
Firstly let’s start with our most popular chalk which is sawn belgorod chalk. This chalk in particular is the most duplicated because of its popularity.
These websites are claiming to sell “high quality” or real sawn belgorod chalk.
They are actually selling natural chalk lumps from unknown sources and sawing the chalk into rectangular pieces to give the appearance of sawn belgorod. The chalk is sawn but not from belgorod region
- The chalk is extremely crumbly,
- has an unusual taste and texture
- Small black pieces in the chalk
Please note some chalks are crumbly however Sawn belgorod chalk mantains a pure white structure throughout.
We do not sell African clay or have a large stock of Indian clay due to our own internal standards however they are many great edible clay stores which supply these.
